Three Moscow McDonald's ordered to stay closed for three months
A court in Moscow has ordered that three McDonald's restaurants in the city centre must remain closed for the next three months.
The restaurants' management say they will appeal against the ruling. Five McDonalds restaurants have been closed in Russia so far, and the authorities say more health inspections are scheduled.The outlets were shut last week following an instruction from the state food safety watchdog.
Welfare payments to be cut in Germany
Germany's government has proposed a law to cut the welfare payments of EU migrants after six months of unemployment, and to deport or imprison any that are convicted of making fraudulent claims.
The Interior Minister (Thomas de Maiziere) said the regulations could come into force next year.
The number of Europeans moving to Germany for work has increased but a BBC correspondent in Berlin says statistics show people are not travelling from poorer countries to claim welfare payments.
Sixteen German mayors appealed last year for help with unemployed EU migrants from eastern Europe, some of them members of the Roma community.
